Give Back to Springfield this Weekend

It’s never been easier to support Illinois nonprofits. Forefront and United Way of Central Illinois have two upcoming opportunities to give back to Springfield-area nonprofit organizations:  a 24-hour online fundraising event from midnight to 11:59pm on May 3, and a volunteer event from May 4-5, respectively.

May 3 – Kick off your weekend with #ILGiveCommunity! Visit on Thursday, May 3. Search for a cause that matters to you and donate any amount. Nonprofits in the Springfield area operate every day to shelter, feed, clothe, educate, and keep our communities healthy. The dollars you give help sustain the critical work these organizations do in Central Illinois and across Illinois.

May 4-5 – Make it a #DayofAction by volunteering! United Way is teaming up with local partners to mobilize hundreds of volunteers and complete dozens of service projects throughout our community. Volunteers will be assisting with projects on both Friday, May 4th (1:00-4:00 p.m.) and Saturday, May 5th (9:00-12:00 p.m.). If you’re signed up to volunteer, or if you see any United Way shirts while you’re out and about, feel free to share the experience to social media with #DayofAction

Thank you in advance for your support! Please help us spread the movement by sharing how you’re giving back with your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors by using #ILGiveCommunity and #DayofAction on social media and sharing these opportunities with your networks.

Now more than ever — is the time to come together to give. We can give, not only money, but our kindness, our passion, our time. We can’t wait to see how you use today to inspire others to join us in coming together to give!
