Donor Privacy Policy

United Way of Central Illinois United Way of Central Illinois, hereafter referred to as United Way, values the trust donors and other stakeholders place in the organization and adheres to the highest standards in collecting, using and safeguarding personal information.

The information collected from donors and stakeholders may be used for pledge processing, recognition and United Way communications, including, but not limited to email, mail, text, phone or fax.

Sharing Personal Information

Relationships with United Way are voluntary and confidential. Personal information is gathered directly from either United Way’s website or a pledge or volunteer form requesting personal information, including address, email, birthdate, etc.

If a donor chooses to designate a gift to a specific 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, unless the donor requests to be anonymous, United Way will release the following donor information to that organization so they may acknowledge the gift: name, employer, preferred mailing address, gift amount and general method of payment.

Donors and stakeholders may choose to opt-out of being listed in any printed materials by contacting the United Way or by selecting the anonymous option when making a donation or pledge.

Donors and stakeholders may opt-out of receiving email, text or other correspondence at any time by contacting the United Way or by following the unsubscribe instructions within any communication.

United Way of Central Illinois does not trade or sell personal information. United Way of Central Illinois does not share personal information without prior donor or stakeholder consent, unless required to by law.
