2014 was an exciting year for United Way as we reversed the trend by experiencing an increase in our annual campaign for the first time in three years. This community-wide effort was made possible through the leadership and efforts of our 2014 Annual Campaign Co-Chairs, the Becker Family.
Over the course of 2014, the Becker family challenged United Way’s staff, volunteers and our entire community to accomplish more. Thank you to Dale & Cathy Becker, Christine Becker, Emily Becker, and Sam & Sarah Sevener, for your dedication and leadership. In addition, congratulations to the Becker family for their successes, both personally and professionally in 2014. Even while leading the campaign, the Becker family celebrate as Emily took on a new role as the General Manager of the Sangamo Club; Sam and Sarah welcomed their newborn son to the family, and Christine got engaged to Andrew Novaria (who also volunteers as a Loaned Executive for United Way).
As we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Becker family for their efforts in 2014, we also welcome our incoming campaign co-chairs, Pat and Sarah Phalen. Pat and Sarah are long-time advocates for United Way and nonprofit organizations throughout our community including United Way, Sparc, Friend-in-Deed, The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation, and The Hope Institute for Children and Families.
Pat and Sarah serve on the leadership team of Illinois National Bank (INB). Sarah is the president and CEO at INB, and Pat is the executive vice president at INB.
The Phalen’s are active members at St. Agnes Catholic Parish in Springfield and the proud parents of three young children.
Thank you to Pat and Sarah Phalen for your commitment to our community.
