Springfield – United Way is sponsoring its 4th Annual “Dine United” on Friday, June 21, 2013. For this event, restaurant owners are joining the United Way campaign effort by donating 10% of the day’s proceeds to United Way. Fifteen restaurants have made this commitment with every dollar donated supporting local health and human service programs.
“We‘re grateful for the continued generosity of our local restaurant community.” said John P. Kelker, United Way President. “We hope this event will raise awareness of the important role United Way plays in helping to assess our communities needs and secure funding for programs providing food, shelter, healthcare, education and victim services to those in need.”
Various types of restaurants have joined this effort including fine dining, family style, and cafés. The participating restaurants are:

- Café Brio Mariah’s Steakhouse
- Café Coco Parkway Café
- Cold Stone Creamery
- The Dublin Pub
- IHOP 2600 Sunrise Drive
- IHOP 4001 W. Wabash Ave.
- Indigo Restaurant
- Jersey Mike’s Sub Shop
- Porter & Hazel’s Deli
- Quaker Steak & Lube
- Quizno’s Subs West Lawrence
- Z Bistro
Other businesses providing additional support for the one day event include Los Rancheros, Chipotle, Signature Event Rental and 5 Flavors Catering.Funding for local health and human services through United Way’s annual campaign will get a boost.
